“I was diagnosed with breast cancer in December,” states SkyMed Member Laurie Sperling. “And after a scan of my lungs, another potential issue was detected.”

After several different options failed to determine the pathology, Laurie and her partner, Lawrence White, soon discovered that an actual lung biopsy surgery was required in February. She chose to have the surgery at BJC Medical Center in St. Louis, MO. Working with SkyMed, both her partner and she were flown round trip on commercial flights from Guanajuato, Mexico, with all costs fully covered by SkyMed.

What would you tell your friends about your experience with SkyMed?
We learned about SkyMed early in our time in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico when we were talking with friends. A SkyMed Rep came to our home to explain how SkyMed works, and it sounded ideal for us. We have since renewed for our second 5-year membership.”

What would you tell your friends about your experience with SkyMed?
“I tell all my friends that SkyMed is a great service — very professional, timely and effective. While we had commercial scheduled flights, SkyMed would have elevated the level of service had we needed it.”

Do you have any tips to share on ‘how to’ survive a life challenge?
“Be prepared with a Plan A (local medical help) and a Plan B (SkyMed to your “home” medical center), then you have the best of both worlds as you age.”
