Patricia DesLauriers, an American X-Pat living on the Island of Providenciales in the Turks & Caicos Islands, describes her SkyMed experience when she had taken a bad fall and shattered her knee cap. She states, “The small hospital on the island could not handle this emergency as I needed immediate surgery. The hospital staff stabilized me, and I called SkyMed as I planned to be transported back to the US for surgery.
