Grant and Sharon Bisel, of Newaygo, Michigan, were on their way to visit their son who lived 250 miles away in Wyandotte, MI. Grant was not himself. Arriving at their son’s, Grant was unable to walk, and it took 20 minutes to get him into the house. An ambulance was called, and Grant was taken to the Henry Ford Hospital in Wyandotte. Misdiagnosed with blood poisoning initially, results from his blood tests soon revealed that the real culprit was Urinary Tract Infection that had gone septic. Sharon wanted Grant to be treated by his own doctors back home. However, the hospital staff would not agree to release him for travel. Sharon called SkyMed and SkyMed flew in a nurse escort to travel with Grant in a ground ambulance back to Grand Rapids, MI, while Sharon followed in the car. Once back home, Sharon was relieved to have Grant in IV Therapy and in the care of family doctors who had Grant’s best interests in mind.
How did you find out about SkyMed and why did you choose SkyMed? “We like to RV in Mission, TX,” says Sharon. “We have been SkyMed Members for a long time because we travel back and forth to Michigan. Plus, we have been ‘work campers’ at various park locations over the years. We saw SkyMed’s presentation at a RV Park and we signed up.”
What would you tell your friends about your experience with SkyMed? “As long as I travel, I don’t want to be without it,” says Sharon. “I would advise anyone who travels to definitely become a SkyMed Member.”
