“On June 12, 2023,” recalls Donna Wynott, “My husband, Barry, underwent an angioplasty at the Reno, Nevada Veterans Hospital.  Following the procedure and ICU at the Reno VA hospital, he was transferred to the Palo Alto, California Veterans Hospital the same night. At this time, I contacted SkyMed about our situation. SkyMed staff assured me that SkyMed was going to be there for us to provide help and to see us through our emergency.

SKyMed arranged an air flight for me to Palo Alto so I was by my husband’s side. Barry was admitted to the VA Palo Alto Health Care System. At this time, SkyMed arranged to have our daughter, Kim Valdex, fly in to be with us. Barry underwent open heart surgery and was discharged in July. Once again SkyMed made the arrangements and flew us home to Nevada.

SkyMed was there for us during a very stressful time. We can rely on the services of SkyMed whether we are at home or traveling. We have confidence in SkyMed whether we are in the USA, Canada, or Mexico. We joined SkyMed, and after five years, renewed our membership at the same rate as when we signed up. When we refer SkyMed to our friends and they sign up, our membership is extended.

The membership fee is minimal compared to the services that SkyMed provides. In one of the SkyMed seminars, the presenter stated that all calls to SkyMed are answered by English speaking staff. That may not sound like an important feature, but during an emergency, it is reassuring that the person helping is easy to understand.”

How did you find out about SkyMed and why did you choose SkyMed? “We signed up at a FMCA Rally following a presentation by Greg Gersbach. SkyMed offers us peace of mind while traveling and it is not only reassuring for us but also for our family members.”

What would you tell your friends about your experience with SkyMed? “We tell others that SkyMed works! The service provided is true. We share our experience and how the membership covers us when traveling and when we are at home.”

Do you have any tips to share on ‘how to’ survive a life challenge? “We survived our life challenge with the support of SkyMed, family, friends, and the excellent care from the medical providers taking care of Barry.”
