“I live in Mexico,” shares Reny Slay, “and I experienced a bowel blockage followed by bowel paralysis and needed immediate hospitalization. I was stabilized at MAC Hospital in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and reached out to SkyMed for assistance. They quickly arranged ground ambulance transport to the nearest airport for me and my partner, Joy, then flew us on a small medical jet to Emory Hospital in Atlanta.

During the flight, I was connected to fluids and had a tube down my throat—it was a very serious situation. The air medical crew was incredibly professional and caring, and they got me there safely.

SkyMed covered nearly $35,000 in transportation costs and got both of us back home to Mexico safely. It was an excellent experience, and I’m so thankful we became Members.”

How did you find out about SkyMed and why did you choose SkyMed? “The SkyMed Representative in San Miguel de Allende gave a compelling presentation. We also chose SkyMed because some of our friends had a good experience with the service.”

What would you tell your friends about your experience with SkyMed? “SkyMed did an excellent job with our evacuation. I am so happy we chose SkyMed’s services. I have told many of my friends already!”

Do you have any tips to share on ‘how to’ survive a life challenge? “Have all the SkyMed information written down in a special place, along with your medical information, because at the moment of one’s ‘life challenge’–it is easy to panic and not remember how to do anything!”
