SkyMed International Transports Mexico Member to USA Hospital
“I live in Mexico,” says Ellen Siegel, “and I was talking to a friend about her recent health scare, for which she required surgery in the United States. She explained how the air transportation was going to be handled by SkyMed. Since her surgery was not an emergency, I didn’t think that SkyMed would cover the expense. She told me that my understanding of their coverage was incorrect. She talked about how kind and helpful the staff had been, and how easy they made the travel aspect of her upcoming trip. What would you tell your friends about your experience with SkyMed? “I highly, and frequently, recommend SkyMed to my other Expat friends,” says Ellen. “You don’t have to live in a foreign country to utilize SkyMed’s International services. Do you have any tips to share on ‘how to’ survive a life challenge? “It is challenging to deal with major health issues! What really made my recovery possible was the support of my family and friends. No matter how self-reliant, surgery changes everything! I needed help with the most basic tasks and for both emotional and social support. I relied upon others who provided transportation to doctor appointments, physical therapy, and the many trips back and forth to the pharmacy. I hope that nobody will have a serious health problem, especially one that requires a trip to another country. But if so, it is really important to have a team like SkyMed to make arranging travel easy.”
