Marv & Elaine Niehoff from Melrose, Minnesota

“Following a very short illness, Marv was diagnosed with a very aggressive adeno-carcinoma of the lung. No treatment was possible and he wanted to go home. We were wintering in Arizona.

We had the good sense to take out a membership in SkyMed 3 years ago. When Marv said he wanted to go home it took one call to SkyMed and one hour later we knew we were going home. On Thursday Morning, March 13th, at 10AM we began our trek back to Minnesota. We were taken by ground ambulance from Mayo Hospital to Sky Harbor airport, loaded on a Lear jet and 2 1/2 hours later, we landed at the airport in Alexandria, MN. We were met there by a ground ambulance and taken to Melrose Hospital where a bed was waiting for Marv. I spent 35 years working as an RN at that same hospital, so it was indeed a ‘coming home’ for both of us. A tearful reunion for all concerned.

THANK GOD FOR SKYMED!

We sent Marv to his heavenly home on March 19th at 10:10PM. He was alert until that morning, and we all had lots of time to say ‘I Love You’. Everyone had some alone time with their Dad to say those last important words. For that, we are all grateful.
