Thank you for your wonderful service. George, my husband, and I were travelling home from Florida when George suffered cardiac arrest in a motel in Mobile, Alabama. We had decided not to take our RV to Orlando, Florida, where we went to see our Granddaughter and her teammates in a National Cheerleading Competition. We were on our way home to Boerne, Texas when George, who had no heart problem, had cardiac arrest on February 12th. The EMT’s arrived 15 minutes later and George was resuscitated and taken to Knollwood Hospital.
Two days later, a neurologist said George had no upper brain waves. To me, and our children, who had flown to Mobile, we knew there was no hope George would survive. (However, when we returned to the hospital, the Doctor had inserted a feeding tube and said he hoped George would regain conciousness. This prompted me to move George to San Antonio as soon as possible.) I called SkyMed as I needed to be home with family and friends and our church. SkyMed asked the name of our doctor in San Antonio, the hospital, and the doctor in Mobile. With that information, all details and arrangements were made.
The transport team was wonderful. The nurses, the pilot, and the ambulance attendants all treated George, and me, in a caring and professional manner.
There was a transport team waiting for us when we landed in San Antonio and we were taken to Methodist Hospital where George was very quickly moved to the Neuro-Critical Care Unit. All arrangements had been made with the hospital by SkyMed. No going to the emergency room, no delay for paperwork. Unbelievable!! I am so pleased with the service and people SkyMed provided.
On Monday, February 17th, George was moved to the Vitas Hospice. He died on February 22nd with kindness and dignity.
I thank you for your wonderful service. I know you had a lot of coordination to do and you did it professionally, immediately, and with care and concern for the whole family. Your personnel are professional, from the first phone call to the end of the trip, we were treated well by everyone. I consistently recommend SkyMed to fellow RV’ers. We who travel have need of your service. Though we all hope that we will never need your service, when it is necessary, it is invaluable.
Sincerely,
Marion Jungermann
